The first performance at the McPherson Opera House was staged in 1889 in a beautifully decorated auditorium.
Historically, the building served as a community cultural center offering performances, political rallies, suffrage meetings, movies, retail shops and apartments.
A major renovation project in the early 1990s saved the building from demolition. The
McPherson Opera House now offers historical appeal with 21st-century facilities including meeting rooms, an art center and premier performance space. Learn more about tours, shows and tickets.
