"The arts empower. The arts give a voice to the voiceless. The arts help transform American communities and, as I often say, the result can be a better child, a better town, a better nation and certainly a better world." - Robert L. Lynch
The Mary Anderson Arts Center is housed in the McPherson Opera House and functions as a working art studio for artists of all ages. The clay room features a kiln and potters wheels. The adjacent room is used for painting and drawing classes. Novice and veteran artists use the center to host art camps, birthday parties and social gatherings. The Mary Anderson Arts Center is also home to the McPherson Arts Alliance (MAA). MAA offers visual art classes and camps for adults and children.
